The little trainer with the amazing horse takes place number five.
A Fair Day is ready for the last Sunday in May.
- I am delighted that A Fair Day will be participating in Elitloppet. "Affe" is an amateur trained fairy tale horse that has taken us all by storm. No one knows how good the horse is and with his driver Oscar Ginman in the saddle, I think others will have to watch out, says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot.
There were good training reports from Elisabeth Almheden ahead of Good Friday's annual debut in the Duke of Värmland, Prince Carl Philip's Jubilee Cup at Färjestadstravet, and A Fair Day exceeded all expectations when he took his sixth straight victory in an incredibly fast 1.09.4 over sprint distance. A performance that made Anders Malmrot jump on the phone to hand over a pink Elitlopp ticket. After a few days of reflection, the circle around the horse has now chosen to go "all in" for Elitloppet.
- It's completely unreal and gratifying to get an invitation to Elitloppet - it's huge! Affe loves people around him, he loves racing and always does his best, which he has proven. At best, there can be two races on the same day, which can be tough, but Affe is strong, fast and sensible and everything is under the long coat, says Elisabeth Almheden.
A Fair Day, or "Affe" as he is known, has together with trainer Elisabeth Almheden and driver Oscar Ginman become the new favorites of Trav-Sweden. So far, there have been thirteen victories in his twenty-five career starts and although he was already good as a three-year-old, it was last year, as a four-year-old, that he really broke through.
A Fair Day won two STL races at V75 - one of which was an acclaimed home victory in Kalmar during the midsummer weekend - and before the year was over he had shown that he belongs to one of the country's absolute best four-year-olds. He won the semi-final of the Breeders' Crown at Solvalla and in the final at Sundbyholmstravet he was brilliant from the lead of 1.11,5 over 2140 meters autostart. A great trotting moment where the little trainer had defeated the big stables and driving Oscar Ginman could make a victory gesture well before the finish line when he took the biggest win of his career with SEK 1.6 million in first prize.
Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot revealed in V75 Direkt on TV4 on Saturday that the circle around A Fair Day has chosen to say yes to Elitloppet 2024 and he is thus the fifth horse that is ready for this year's edition.
