Won HRH Prince Daniel's race yesterday and after thinking about it for a couple of hours, it's a yes to Elitloppet 2023.
Mister Hercules takes place number fourteen until the last Sunday in May.
- Mister Hercules has always had a sky-high capacity, but he's had a bit of a rough ride. When he wakes up on the right side, he can do races that few can do, says coach Daniel Redén.
Mister Hercules won Saturday's race at Gävletravet in a new record time of 1.09,7 over 1609 meters despite a very heavy race in the third lane for much of the race. The biggest victory of his career so far came when he won the final of the Breeders' Crown as a three-year-old in 2020 and this year, in addition to Saturday's win in HRH Prince Daniel's race, he has also won the Finnish major race Seinäjoki Race.
The pink ticket means that it will be the first ever start in Elitloppet for Mister Hercules and there are now only two places left - which will be announced later in the day.
- "Mister Hercules has always been a fast horse and now all the pieces seem to have fallen into place. He was fantastic in Gävle and took his place very well deserved, says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot.
The victory means that trainer Daniel Redén now has three horses in this year's Elitlopp. The other two are Don Fanucci Zet and Hail Mary.
The draw for the two trials of Elitloppet 2023 will take place on TV12 at 17.30 today, Sunday May 21.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 26-28, 2023. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
