First to finish last year - this year he is the first horse to receive a pink ticket.
Don Fanucci Zet is coming to defend his title.
- He won in the fastest final time in the history of Elitloppet in 2021 and is a must in Elitloppet in 2022, says Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot.
Trainer Daniel Redén thus gets the chance to once again take home the victory in Elitloppet at Solvalla. Until last year's start, Don Fanucci Zet's main merits were the win in Sprintermästaren 2020 and second place in Svenskt Travderby the same year, which brought in 1.2 and 2 million SEK respectively.
However, as one of last year's favorites, he came to show that he is in the world elite to stay and took home the biggest victory of his life in Elitloppet 2021 with three million in first prize.
After finishing second in the trial from the difficult track eight, Don Fanucci Zet was then even better in the final - where he sprinted past his competitors via a swirling finish and won in a record time of 1.08,9 over 1609 meters together with driving Örjan Kihlström.
This year it will be a new start on home ground as it was announced in connection with Saturday's V75 Direkt in TV4 that Don Fanucci Zet is the very first horse to be invited to Elitloppet 2022 on the last weekend in May.
- He is an incredibly good horse with a special technique, says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot
