Gallop in the final last year - now he comes back for revenge.
Öna's Prince is the sixth horse to receive a pink ticket.
- The goal has been clear since the gallop in the last turn - we would be back this year in Elitloppet and this time we come with an even stronger team, says coach Per Nordström.
The merit list can be made long when it comes to Önas Prince and many remember him mainly as one of the litter's two big ones during the four-year-old season where he took home the King's Cup at Åby, the Sprinter's Champion in Halmstad and also won the Breeders Crown in Eskilstuna - all with a million kronor or more in first prize. Önas Prince also finished second in the Swedish Trotting Derby at Jägersro as a four-year-old and ended up with a total of SEK 6,880,500 earned in 2021.
After winning Håkan "Lillis" Olsson's race in Örebro as a five-year-old, he was invited to Elitloppet last year. Öna's Prince was third in his trial race before later galloping away to a prominent position in the final.
This year he has had two starts which gave two victories and after the win on Easter Monday in Halmstad where he won by far in 1.09,6 over a short distance, the Elitlopp audience will now for the second time see him as one of the sixteen participants. Solvalla's sporting director Anders Malmrot announced in V75 Direkt on TV4 on Saturday that Önas Prince is horse number six to be ready for Elitloppet 2023.
- He looks even stronger this year where he was brilliant in his last start and Önas Prince has earned his invitation," says Anders Malmrot.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 26-28, 2023. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
