It will be the third time in Elitloppet for Cokstile who participated for the first time in 2018, but after missing the final that time, he came back with a vengeance this year and 2020 will not be forgotten in the first place. Cokstile won the trial in an impressive way and also did a brilliant race in the final. There he ran in second place - but after the finish line was disqualified, it was ultimately Cokstile who became the winner of the Elitloppet 2020 at Solvalla and the first prize of SEK 3,000,000 million.
Cokstile started his racing career in Norway and won the Norwegian Derby as a four-year-old and he has also won the Gran Premio delle Nazioni in his current home country in Italy with just over a million in first prize, which is also one of his major victories. In addition to the Elitlopp victory in 2020 on Swedish soil, there was also a second place in the Hugo Åbergs Memorial at Jägersro, which brought in SEK 800,000.
Cokstile had not been seen on the trotting circuit since September when he appeared in Denmark at Charlottenlund racecourse for his comeback on Sunday. There it was a second place in a strong way and with that race in the body, they will now try to defend their title after receiving a pink ticket.
