He cheated death last winter.
And was back faster than anyone could hope.
Double Prix d'Amérique winner Idao de Tillard is coming to Solvalla and Elitloppet!
- At the top of his game, I don't think there is a horse in the world that can beat Idao de Tillard. I would like to have a horse with that capacity," says Solvalla's sports manager Ola Lernå.
Idao de Tillard had problems with colic in November and underwent emergency surgery. A life-threatening disease for a horse with a normally very long recovery period. But Idao de Tillard is no ordinary horse and already at the beginning of March he was back on the race track. He has had two more races in his body since then and when trainer Thierry Duvaldestin realized that the chance for a third straight victory in the Prix d'Amérique was gone, his eyes immediately turned to Solvalla and Elitloppet.
- He was fantastic today, I had a lot of power left," said Clement Duvaldestin after winning the Prix de l'Atlantique.
The winning time was 1.10,1a/2.150 meters and Idao won before already Elitloppinvited Go On Boy.
- Actually, it's amazing that he's just back on track. That he does it at this level is a victory in itself. We are grateful for the invitation to the Elitloppet and normally the horse should be even better in a month," said trainer Thierry Duvaldestin.
