Don Fanucci Zet makes annual debut in E-race

Solvalla's E-race got off to a flying start last weekend.
On Wednesday it's time again. And in The Onions Lopp at Solvalla, Elitlopp winner Don Fanucci Zet will start!

Don Fanucci Zet, winner of Elitloppet 2021 and second last year behind Go On Boy, makes this year's first start in the E-race at Solvalla. Don Fanucci Zet was honored as Older Horse of the Year at the Horse Gala after a magical season as a nine-year-old with victory in the Hugo Åbergs Memorial and second places in the Elitloppet and UET Elite Circuit Final at Solvalla.
- He's been a little round about, but got a tougher job last week. "I'm really looking forward to the annual debut and the opportunity to be in Elitloppet for the sixth time with Don Fanucci Zet. It's actually quite incredible," says Daniel Redén.
Don Fanucci Zet will face just six horses over the sprint distance on Wednesday where the winner, in addition to 15 points in the E-race series, will receive SEK 100,000.
- The number is a miscalculation, even though there have been many races for the highest class all Easter. "It's a small field, but a very good one," says Solvalla's sports director Ola Lernå.
Diva Ek tops the E-race table after the start of the C Th Ericsson Memorial. The top two at the end of the E-race series on May 23 have secured a place in Elitloppet.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 29-31, 2026. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different heats with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
