There will be a Norwegian flag in this year's edition of Elitloppet.
This is through five-year-old Charron who takes the penultimate place.
- He looked brilliant at the victory last time and there is wonderful development in the horse. Gundersens has once again produced a top horse," says Solvalla's Elitloppet manager Anders Malmrot.
Charron sprinted home the Norwegian Derby final last year which is the biggest triumph of his career and also won the Jarlsberg Grand Prix and Axel Jensens Minneslopp. In his last start, he visited Åbytravet and impressed when he was the best in the Lyon Grand Prix 2025 in a strong way from the outside leader. Now it is clear that there will be a new visit to Sweden with a view to Solvalla next weekend for the Norwegian talent.
Charron has received the fifteenth Elitloppet ticket and will be Norway's representative in the world's biggest sprint race, as announced by Solvalla's Anders Malmrot on Sunday morning.
- It is a dream for all trainers to get an invitation and in my mind the Elitloppet is the biggest race you can be in. I feel we have a super exciting horse that is both fast and strong and we are very happy about the invitation, says trainer Geir Vegard Gundersen whose son Magnus Teien Gundersen will drive Charron in the Elitloppet.
The draw for the two Elitloppet trials will take place on TV12 at 17:30 on Sunday.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 23-25, 2025. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial will meet in a final where the winner will receive five million SEK.
