Hohneck becomes the twelfth horse to be invited to the world's biggest sprint race.
- He is back in top form, and we know what this technician can achieve at Solvalla as a former winner of Elitloppet," says Anders Malmrot.
Owner and trainer Philippe Allaire chose to travel to Sweden and Solvalla as he had a strong feeling that Hohneck would fit perfectly on a Swedish thousand meter track - the rest is trotting history.
Hohneck won the 2023 Elitlopp final in dazzling style from the lead in a time of 1.08,9. He is part of the French trio, along with Etonnant and Horsy Dream, that has given France three straight victories in the Elitloppet up to this year's edition.
Elitloppet wasn't the only time Hohneck got to parade in front of the Solvalla crowd in 2023. In October of that year, he came back and took the second biggest win of his career - the UET Elite Circuit Finale (Gr I, Int), also known as King Carl XVI Gustaf's Silver Horse.
Hohneck finished fifth in the Elitloppet in 2024, and after a third-place finish in the Prix des Ducs de Normandie in 2025 - run last Saturday in Caen, France - it is now clear that he will return to Solvalla.
- I'm very happy to come with Hohneck to Solvalla once again and to meet the fantastic audience. Right now we are drinking water - but we are coming to Sweden to drink champagne," says Philippe Allaire.
Elitlopp manager Anders Malmrot revealed the invitation in V86 Direkt on TV12 on Wednesday evening. Now only four horses remain before the starting field for Elitloppet 2025 is complete. Three invitations remain, as well as a direct place to the winner of Saturday's race H.R.H. Prince Daniel's race - Vägen till Elitloppet - STL Gulddivisionen Final at Gävletravet.
