He won the world's biggest sprint race in 2022 - now it's time for a long-awaited comeback at Solvalla.
Etonnant is ready as the sixth horse in this year's Elitlopp.
- "It's great to have him back. He is a real superstar who charms us all with his presence," says Solvalla's Elitlopp Manager Anders Malmrot.
The French star horse has earned over €2.5 million and won several of France's biggest races - including the Prix de Paris, Prix d'Été and Prix de l'Atlantique. But the biggest moment of his career came at Solvalla.
In the Elitloppet 2022, Etonnant won the final in spectacular fashion, coming back from a gallop to win the race with a powerful sprint over the top. The win was trainer Richard Westerink's third Elitlopp victory. He previously won in 2014 and 2017 with Timoko - who is also the sire of Etonnant. Timoko is one of only nine horses to win the Elitloppet final twice.
Etonnant also qualified for the final in 2023 where he finished fifth after a gallop at the start of the race. After a very troubled 2024, Etonnant has come back to racing and now he gets another chance to follow in his father's hoofsteps when he makes his third appearance in Elitloppet.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 23-25, 2025. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial will meet in a final where the winner will receive five million SEK.
