After Saturday's crushing victory in the Paralympics, he became horse number nine. The Prince of the Island is ready for Elitloppet 2024 on the last Sunday in May.
- He is stronger this year and this was a great performance. There is no doubt that he will be in Elitloppet this year too. says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot.
Önas Prince was one of the litter's two dominants when he won the King's Cup at Åbytravet, the Sprinter Champion in Halmstad and the Breeders' Crown in Eskilstuna during his successful season as a four-year-old in 2021. In addition, he was second in the Swedish Trotting Derby.
Now Önas Prince is waiting for his third start in Elitloppet. In his first Elitlopp start, he galloped away a prominent position in 2022 and last year he was fourth behind winning Hohneck.
This year he is undefeated and after winning the Paralympic final in an astonishing way, Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot handed over the pink ticket to Per Nordström.
- "He's a unique player, so damn smart and fine, and he has a terrible capacity. I think he's better than ever now," says coach Per Nordström.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 24-26, 2024. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
