The heightened threat of terrorism has led to a bag ban for major events - and that ban will also apply during Elitloppet at Solvalla 2024.
- After a period of dialog with the police, we have now received the message, but we will work to facilitate our visitors as much as possible, says Solvalla's CEO Jörgen Forsberg.

The bag ban means exactly what it sounds like - no bags are allowed at the event. Only people who need to bring a bag for medical reasons and people with children who need a changing bag are exempt, as are working staff, who must, however, go through a special entrance and have their bags carefully checked.

Can't Solvalla make an exception?
- I would like to emphasize that there is no known threat to either Solvalla or Elitloppet, but the bag ban is generally issued against major events in Sweden. We do not own the decision, but must follow it, to violate it is considered a violation of the Public Order Act. It is the Police Authority that decides on bag bans at events. We have the greatest respect for their judgment and we want Elitloppet to be as safe and pleasant as possible," says Jörgen Forsberg.

How is a bag defined?
- According to the police authority, a wallet or small toiletry bag is not a bag. Larger than that is not allowed.

If you have a bag or a transparent bag?
- The bag ban also applies to plastic bags.

Can you bring a corded computer in your hand?
- Yes, computer and cord are fine, but not in a bag.

Can I take food with me?
- Unfortunately, you are not allowed to bring your own picnic, even if you carry the food directly in your hand. Instead, there will be a serving area throughout the course.

Is it possible to store your bag at Solvalla?
- Not at Solvalla, but we will offer bag storage subject to availability at the intersection of Bällstavägen/Travbanevägen (at the Solvalla bus stop). There will be a fee of SEK 100 per bag, payable by Swish. The bag storage will be open 11.00-18.00 on Friday, and 09.00-21.00 on Saturday and Sunday. However, we recommend that you do not bring any bags to Solvalla.

How will athletes be able to compete without a bag?
- The stable back is a workplace and not a spectator area, so it will also be during the Elitlopp weekend, and is therefore not covered by the general bag ban. However, bags may of course not be taken out to the spectator area from the stable hill, says Solvalla's CEO Jörgen Forsberg.
