Success in the Elitlopp premiere in 2023.
Now Hohneck comes to Solvalla to defend his title.
- He was fantastic last year in Elitloppet and I'm already looking forward to seeing him soar with us again," says Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot.
Hohneck had a fine 2022 and after continuing to deliver top performances in early 2023, he was invited to Elitloppet. Owner and trainer Philippe Allaire chose to travel to Solvalla because he was confident that Hohneck would be a perfect fit for a Swedish thousand-meter track - the rest is now trotting history.
After a second place in the trial race, Hohneck danced home the final of Elitloppet 2024 with five million SEK in first prize in the top time 1.08,9. Driving Gabriele Gelormini offered a lovely victory gesture - which we then saw again in mid-October when Hohneck was back at Solvalla and won the UET Elite Circuit Finale (Gr I, Int) - Konung Carl XVI Gustafs Silverhäst with 2.8 million to the winner.
His other achievements include the win in Critérium Continental 2021, which was Hohneck's biggest victory until last year's Elitlopp triumph.
On Easter Eve in V75 Direkt in TV4, sports director Anders Malmrot announced that Philippe Allaire and the circle around Hohneck have received their Elitlopp invitation and will head for Solvalla again on the last Sunday in May. This makes him the fourth horse to receive a pink ticket for Elitloppet 2024.
- It's a great honor and I'm very proud and happy to be invited again to come and try to defend our victory from last year - Hohneck loves Solvalla," says Philippe Allaire.
