The temperature is now rising for the cold-bloods ahead of this year's Elitkamp/Jim Fricks Lopp.
The winner of Vårbjörken in Umeå on May 11 is directly qualified for Elitkampen 2024.
- "Vårbjörken is a suitable race that is right on time. It usually attracts top horses from Norway, Finland and Sweden, it will be good to get the talk going properly before Elitkampen, says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot.
The first prize in Elitkampen, which will be run at Solvalla on Sunday, May 26, was raised to SEK 1 million in 2022 and attracts the best coldbloods in the world. Finnish Evartti and Santo Raitala won the race last year.

Elitkampen is the only million-dollar race for cold-blooded horses in 2024 and Anders Malmrot will invite two horses each from Sweden, Norway and Finland. In addition, the winner of Vårbjörken will receive a ticket and the last three places will go to horses with the highest starting points.
Elitkampen is decided over 1,640 meters autostart, a distance where Järvsöfaks is still the world record holder with the time 1.17,9 at Gävletravet 2005.
