The Elitlopp audience will welcome another French horse on the last Sunday in May.
After today's super sprint in the Prix de l'Atlantique, Go On Boy will be horse number seven in the Elitloppet 2023.
- It is an honor to be invited again to Elitloppet and I hope to do as I did with Dijon.
My horse was very good today and now there will be no more starts before Elitloppet," said trainer Romain Derieux.
It will be the first time that Go On Boy comes to Sweden but the horse's trainer Romain Derieux is all the more known to the Elitlopp audience. In 2019 he won the Elitloppet with his Dijon and now the Frenchman comes with a new star to Solvalla.
Go On Boy had his best racing season so far in 2020 with wins in Prix de Milan and Prix Vindex. Among his other major victories, the win in Prix de Washington 2021 is one of the standouts.
In Saturday's Prix de l'Atlantique, Go On Boy finished second behind already invited Etonnant despite a very difficult thirteenth, but after a swirling sprint over the run-up, he seized second place and now awaits Elitloppet 2023 for Go On Boy.
Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot announced the news in V75 Direkt in TV4 on Saturday and thus seven horses have received a pink ticket to this year's edition of Elitloppet.
- "I've had my eye on Go On Boy for a long time and now he's back in a big way again. He is a very fast horse and will fit perfectly at Solvalla, says Anders Malmrot.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 26-28, 2023. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
