Just like the last two years, there will be a Speedrace for both warmbloods and coldbloods during the Elitlopp weekend at Solvalla.
The nine horses in each class are invited and ready and it is loaded for speed party over 640 meters.
Among the invited warmbloods, twelve-year-old M.T.Insider stands out, who has delighted the Elitlopp crowd at Solvalla with his participation the last four years. He won in 2018, 2019, 2021 and was second in 2020. Now he comes to defend his title in Speedrace and makes the very last start of his career.
Zack Bris took a direct place in this year's Speedrace when he won in superior style at Umåker and of the invited horses we find, for example, five-year-old Chablis Ribb as the race's only mare. She most recently started in Stoeliten where she showed her starting speed and was a finalist in the Stochampionat last year.
The reigning champion among the coldbloods is Norwegian Ådne Odin and he will be at Solvalla again this year. So does Lysjö Mocca who was third in the final last year - as a mare she will be joined this year by Kleppe Spödå who, through her win at Umåker, took the direct place to the Speedracet for the coldbloods. In addition, we will see fifteen-year-old Lome Brage in this year's edition. He has won in front of the Elitlopp crowd before when he won Elitkampen 2018 - now he will use his starting speed to run really fast over 640 meters.
The winners in each class will receive SEK 100,000.
The speed race is decided as three trial heats with three horses in each heat over the distance 640 meters autostart. In the final, the three winners from each heat will meet. Speedrace will be run on the Elitlopp weekend at Solvalla May 27-29, 2022, the coldbloods compete on Friday and the warmbloods compete on Sunday.
