The road to the world's most profitable sulky race in 2022 goes via Helsinki, Stockholm and Gävle.
The winners of Finlandia Ajo, Meadow Roads Lopp and HRH Prince Daniel's Lopp will all receive a ticket to Elitloppet.
The Elitloppet at Solvalla in 2022 will award SEK 5 million to the winner of the final, making it the sulky race with the highest prize money in the world.
- We are turning up the Elitlopp temperature considerably in May and it feels really good to continue the cooperation with Vermo and Finlandia Ajo, says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot.
This is the sixth time that the winner of Finlandia Ajo has received a pink ticket, last year Hickothepooh took the route via the Finnish capital's Vermo railway.
- It is a high-quality race that usually includes several international guests," says Malmrot.
Finlandia Ajo is run on May 1. May 11 there is a ticket hunt at Solvalla in Meadow Roads Lopp. 2021 the winner was Heavy Sound and the week before Elitloppet, May 21, HRH Prince Daniel's Lopp is run in Gävle.
- Since 2014, the winner of HRH Prince Daniel's Race has been directly qualified and last year Elitloppstrean Gareth Boko came via Gävle, says Malmrot.
Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 27-29, 2022. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
