How fast can a coldblood run for 640 meters? We will get the answer on Friday, May 29, when the Speedrace for cold blood starts the elite race weekend.
Speed races for warmbloods have been organized since 2012 and for the last three years the distance has been 640 meters autostart. Now an identical race is being created for coldbloods as well.
- The idea started to grow when Lome Brage, with Erik Adielsson in the carriage, opened 1.10,6 first hundred meters in Elitkampen 2018. Now the time is ripe for the cold-blooded to test the extremely short distance that we have in Speedrace. I'm really looking forward to this, says Solvalla's Sports Manager Anders Malmrot.
Nine fast coldbloods will be invited by Solvalla's sports director. The horses will be divided into three trial heats with three horses in each trial and will be drawn to tracks one, three and five behind the starting car. The three winners from the trial heats will then meet in the final.
The trial heats are run approximately four minutes apart and the final is decided six minutes after the last trial. In other respects, the races are run according to the Swedish Trotting Regulations.

Speedrace for coldblood will be held on Friday, May 29 and Speedrace for warmblood on Sunday, May 31.
