WHAT IS THE ELITLOPPET?
Since its inception in 1952, Elitloppet has been one of the world's most prestigious trotting races and is traditionally held on the last Sunday in May at Solvalla in northwest Stockholm. The world's best horses are invited to compete in both trials and finals over the classic sprint distance of 1609 meters.
But Elitloppet is so much more than just a race - it's a three-day festival! During the Elitloppet weekend, Solvalla is filled with spectators from all over the world, all gathered to experience horses, speed and excitement at the highest level.
WHEN IS THE ELITLOPPET?
The Elitlopp weekend 2026 will be held between May 29-31 at Solvalla. Trials and finals for Elitloppet will be held on Sunday, May 31.
HOW DOES THE ELITLOPPET WORK?
The Elitloppet is an invitational race in which 16 horses from different parts of the world compete in two different trials of eight horses each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives 5 million SEK. But in addition to the Elitloppet, lots of other exciting races are organized on the same weekend. In total, almost 30 million SEK in prize money is awarded during the Elitloppet weekend.
WHERE CAN I EAT WHEN I VISIT SOLVALLA?
Food in a variety of forms will be served all over the public area during the Elitloppet weekend, so you'll always be close to something good to eat and drink - no matter where you are. Solvalla's entire audience area will be transformed into a large serving area with everything from classic fast food favorites to luxurious dishes in one of our restaurants. Although restaurant seats are booked up quickly after they are released, there is always something to enjoy for those who visit us.
When you book a table in one of our restaurants, the entrance fee is included in your purchase, so you do not need a separate entrance ticket.

HOW DO I BUY MY TICKET?
You can easily buy tickets for the Elitloppet weekend via www.elitloppet.se. In the online shop, you can choose the ticket that suits you best.
If you book a seat in one of our restaurants, the entrance fee is included in your purchase, so you don't need a separate entrance ticket - it's included in your menu package.
