He is the fastest medium-distance horse in the world. And international to boot.
After a winter in the shadows, Jabalpur is ready for the spotlight and is the eighth horse to be invited to this year's Elitlopp.

- After a difficult period, Jabalpur has shown upward form and the circle around the horse has had Elitloppet as the main goal in 2026 for a long time. "He feels like a difficult-to-analyze and slightly messy addition that I really see as an x-factor," says Solvalla's sports director Ola Lernå.

When Jabalpur won the Prix René Balliere last year, Elitlopp winner Go On Boy and Critérium de Vitesse winner Iguski Sautonne were defeated. But it was the winning time that made everyone raise their eyebrows; 1.08,7a/2.100 meters is the fastest mark any horse has achieved over medium distance.
And Jabalpur proved he was no flash in the pan by later winning the Nations' Cup in Milan ahead of Inexess Bleu.

- Jabalpur is a horse that shouldn't start too close, but now he feels incredibly good in his work, he is as good now as when he beat Inexess Bleu in Milan. It's an honor and we are grateful for the invitation to Elitloppet," says Arnaud Chavatte.

Jabalpur has an international flavor. The horse is French-born, trained by father Alain and son Arnaud Chavatte in France, but is ridden by Italian Gabriele Gelormini and owned by Dario Trasi and his Tramontom SRL in Italy.
