A doldrum in Sweden. Respected star in France.
Keep Going showed upward form in his last appearance after a slow winter at Vincennes and French top trainer Mathieu Mottier has been eyeing Elitloppet for some time.
- Keep Going is ferociously fast for a Frenchman. His greatest successes have come over, by French standards, shorter distances and I think he will run eerily fast at Solvalla. Keep Going makes his first appearance in life over 1,609 meters, says Solvalla's sports manager Ola Lernå.
Keep Going has been at the top of his class since his debut as a two-year-old, but it was when he came to Mathieu Mottier as a four-year-old that things really took off. He won the Four-Year-Old Criterium and the Criterium Continental, the latter earning him a ticket to the Prix d'Amérique where he was already competing as a five-year-old. He was in the PDA again this year after a second place in the Prix du Bourbonnais qualifier behind Inmarosa.
- I have been patiently waiting for this ticket and am very grateful that it came. He has been working on it all along and feels really good. I think an English mile suits Keep Going perfectly. At the same time, I know the opposition is tough, it looks like a fantastic Elitlopp! But now we are there and we hope for the best," says Mathieu Mottier.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 29-31, 2026. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different heats with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
