A Fair Day stands out in so many ways. Trained by a retired after-school teacher, driven by a demolition worker, and loved by the general public.
- I've been dreaming about Elitloppet since we went home last year. This is something so few people get to experience," says Elisabeth Almheden.
The brothers A Fair Day and Maroon Day have delighted the trotting public for several years. Both are trained by the Kalmar amateur Elisabeth Almheden, whose favorites in the stable go by the nicknames ”Affe” and ”Rooney”.
- ”Affe” was the best all-Swedish team in Elitloppet last year with his fourth place. My opinion is that he has had a level increase to 2026 and his pink ticket feels obvious, says Solvalla's sports manager Ola Lernå.
A Fair Day was fourth in the C Th Ericsson Memorial at Solvalla last weekend.
- He is the people's horse, and it is a joy to follow him - and his followers - around trotting Sweden. The following of ”Affe”, trainer Elisabeth Almheden and driving friend Oscar Ginman grows with every start, Lernå continues.
A Fair Day will make its third appearance in Elitloppet and Elisabeth Almheden has been eagerly awaiting the invitation.
- It feels fantastic and I have to say that Elitloppet is an experience that you wish everyone could be a part of, just to be invited is a highlight in itself, says Elisabeth Almheden.
The match schedule until the last weekend in May is set for A Fair Day.
- He took the race at Solvalla very well and has had to go to ”spa” this week. We will start in Orebro Intn'l and then in Tingsryd, it is close to hand for us in Kalmar. I hope to have the horse in absolute top form for Elitloppet, says Elisabeth Almheden.
The C Th Ericsson Memorial last weekend was also the premiere of the E-race series where the two highest scoring horses are rewarded with a Elitlopp place. The table for the E-races will be updated all the way to Elitloppet and A Fair Day will be moved out of the calculation as he has his place in Elitloppet secured.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 29-31, 2026. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different heats with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
