On March 2, the restaurant and grandstand seating for Elitloppet 2020 will be released. This year, the food options and the number of different serving locations are more numerous than ever. - Last year, the most popular restaurant seats sold out in just a few minutes and we expect a similar rush this year. Among the news is that we are investing even more in a wide range of food and drink in the spectator area," says Morgan Lydebring, restaurant manager at Solvalla.
The Elitlopp weekend offers something for all the senses. The sound and sight of the world's best horses, the smell of success, the sweetness of victory and the feeling of being there when history is made. And of course the taste of good food.
There are many options, from a buffet to an advanced tasting menu.
Guests can choose to sit in the Kongressen, Valla Krog, Bistron, Målläktaren, Målcafét or Dijon tent. The Dijon tent is located in the curve after the finish line and will be named after the previous year's Elitlopp winner from 2020 onwards. Also new this year is the range of vegan, Caribbean and Spanish dishes in the spectator area.
- We are also inaugurating a new bar where the range has been developed together with our partner Spendrups. Elitloppet is a big party with a focus on joy and community. A lot of beer is consumed, as much as 40,000 liters, and this year we promise several exciting beers," says Lydebring, who also notes that events like the Elitlopp weekend are a challenge for kitchen and serving staff.
- But it is a very fun and inspiring challenge! In the restaurants, we have 10,000 seated guests and all the food is cooked from scratch in our own kitchen. It requires a lot of logistics," laughs Morgan Lydebring.
