Warmbloods with STL merits and among the coldbloods we will see a mare from the highest class and a Norwegian guest with huge speed resources. The invitees on Wednesday mean that the starting fields in Speedrace 2020 during the Elitlopp weekend at Solvalla are complete.
- Finnskog Sjefens participation has been of great interest and together with the other invited coldbloods, we have an exciting mix, says Solvallas sports manager Anders Malmrot.
The now fifteen-year-old Finnskog Sjefen is an experienced gentleman. He has made 182 starts so far in his career and has long been known as a horse that has the spice required in a speed race over the short distance of 640 meters. 22 victories have been achieved for the fifteen-year-old who has shown that he matches the world elite from the start - now he comes to Solvalla. Invited among the coldbloods are also Brenne Järven, Hönn Blesa and Torpa Olea.
Brenne Järven won a race as recently as Tuesday, where he showed top form and won very easily. He has won 16 races so far in his career. Hönn Blesa has six wins so far and is often seen taking care of the lead in her class - now she gets the toughest possible competition in terms of starting speed. Torpa Olea is also a mare that has competed all the way up to the highest class and is used to facing the very best mares in the country. She also had a good year last year where she won a 100.000 SEK race at Bergsåker. These four now complete the starting field among the coldbloods - this after the already invited Ingbest unfortunately had to withdraw.
Among the warmbloods, the last ready trio for this year's Speedrace is Lexington Hall, Star Costashorta and Precious Lord.
The latter Precious Lord is competing in a lower class so far, with four wins in 23 starts, while the duo Lexington Hall and Star Costashorta have STL credentials and can call themselves millionaires in terms of money earned. Both have climbed up to the Silver Division and the chestnut Star Costashorta won in STL as recently as the beginning of March.
- Lexington Hall and Star Costashorta are recognized as fast starters and then it will be fun to see if Precious Lord lives up to the training reports, says Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot.
The invited in each category means that the starting fields with the nine participants among the hot and cold bloods are ready for Speedrace 2020 during the Elitlopp weekend at Solvalla on May 29-31.
The speed race is decided as three trial heats with three horses in each heat over the distance 640 meters autostart. In the final, the three winners from each heat meet.

The speed race is part of the Elitlopp weekend on May 29-31, which this year will be organized without spectators. The spread of the new coronavirus has resulted in laws, regulations and directives that have led to Solvalla and other Swedish trotting tracks completely closing down their spectator facilities since March 12. In addition to this, a number of restrictions have been introduced around the stables. The racecourses are today a strict workplace where only people who perform a job have access.
