He qualified for the Elitlopp weekend on his own last year - this year it was the same story. After the victory in the Meadow Roads race on Wednesday evening, Sorbet is horse number ten for Elitloppet 2020.
- He really showed that he is worth his ticket, says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot.
The nine-year-old finished unplaced in last year's Elitloppet after drawing lane eight in the trial, but Sorbet has continued to deliver good performances throughout and was involved in several big races in 2019 - and in 2020 he still seems in very good form. He won his debut of the year in 1.09,8 over 1640 meters at Eskilstuna and after Wednesday's victory in the Meadow Roads race at Solvalla, Sorbet now gets a new chance in Elitloppet.
In 2019, he took his place by winning HRH Prince Daniel's race at Gävletravet and in 2020 he will also claim one of the direct places as a direct place was at stake in Meadow Road's race. Sorbet proved to be the best and was able to win in 1.10,4 over the short distance - which means that there will be another start at Solvalla during the last weekend in May for his part.
- After his debut, he was Sweden's fastest and he once again showed his toughness when he decided from the outside leader tonight, says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot.
This will be Sorbet's second start in Elitloppet whose biggest wins so far in his career are the aforementioned HRH Prince Daniels and Prix Hersilie at Vincennes in France with over 400,000 SEK in first prize.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 29-31, 2020. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives three million SEK.
Invited horses for Elitloppet 2020: Vivid Wise As (Italy), Elian Web (Finland), Chief Orlando (Finland), Attraversiamo (Sweden), Tae Kwon Deo (Sweden), Missle Hill (Sweden), Looking Superb (Norway), Makethemark (Sweden), Cokstile (Italy), Sorbet (Sweden).
This year, the Elitlopp weekend will be organized without spectators. The spread of the new coronavirus has led to laws, regulations and directives that have resulted in Solvalla and other Swedish trotting tracks completely closing down their spectator facilities since March 12. In addition to this, a number of restrictions have been introduced around the stables. The racecourses are today a strict workplace where only people who perform a job have access.
