It will be a familiar Frenchwoman who takes the last place in Elitloppet 2020 - at Solvalla we saw her for the first time already in 2015. Billie de Montfort is horse number sixteen until the last Sunday in May.
- She never does a bad race and as a nine-year-old she is the steel grandmother of the race, says Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot.
The four-year-old elite for mares 2015 was the first time we got to see Billie de Montfort in Sweden and she charmed the Swedish trotting public when she won in 1.10,7 in impressive style and has since many years in the highest elite on the track record. Billie de Montfort's biggest victory came in the Criterium de Jeunes as a three-year-old and second place in the Grand Prix de l'U.E.T. 2015 behind Bold Eagle and second place in the Prix de Selection are also among her greatest merits in terms of money earned.
The 2019 season brought in over three million crowns and at the end of December she took a nice scalp when she won the Prix de Bourgogne and, among other things, defeated already Elitlopp-invited duo Vivid Wise As and Looking Superb and a certain Bold Eagle.
She has shown form on Swedish soil via a third place in the Paralympic race and Algot Scott's Memorial 2020 and it was also a third place in Saturday's Gold Division behind already Elitlopp invited Racing Mange - on Sunday, Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot announced that Billie de Montfort takes the last pink invitation for Sunday, May 31.
- She beat the best in Prix de Bourgogne in December and five years after she won the Four-Year-Old Elite for mares, it is again time to start in Elitloppet, says Anders Malmrot.
Billie de Montforts is competing for the second time in Elitloppet - she first competed in 2016 and qualified for the final where she finished unplaced behind winner Nuncio.

This year, the Elitlopp weekend will be organized without spectators. The spread of the new coronavirus has led to laws, regulations and directives that have resulted in Solvalla and other Swedish trotting tracks completely closing down their spectator facilities since March 12. In addition to this, a number of restrictions have been introduced around the stables. The racecourses are today a strict workplace where only people who perform a job have access.
