Sunday's win in Finlandia Ajo means it will be Elitloppet for the fourth time.
Cokstile is horse number nine to be ready for the last Sunday in May.
- He won Elitloppet 2020 and showed today that he is back at the highest level again, says Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot.
Cokstile was knocked out in the 2018 trial and last year he was unplaced after qualifying for the final, but in 2020 it was he who took home the final victory and the win in Elitloppet. Cokstile first won his trial race in impressive fashion and then did a fantastic race in the final as well. There he ran to the finish line as the runner-up, but after the runner-up was disqualified, it was Cokstile who became the winner of Elitloppet 2020 at Solvalla.
His other achievements include winning the Norwegian Trotting Derby as a four-year-old and the Gran Premio delle Nazioni in his current home country of Italy. After the Elitlopp victory in 2020, Cokstile was also second in the big race Hugo Åbergs Memorial at Jägersro and last year we saw him win the Kalmarsund Cup in his new record 1.09,1 over sprinter distance and earlier this year he won the Prix de Bourgogne at Vincennes.
Sunday's victory in Finlandia Ajo at Vermo trotting track with 110,000 euros to the winner means a direct place to Elitloppet 2022 for Cokstile and the circle around the horse has chosen to accept his fourth visit to Solvalla.
- Cokstile is a very tough horse who will try to take his second victory in Elitloppet and now nine out of sixteen horses have received a pink ticket, says Anders Malmrot.

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 27-29, 2022. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives five million SEK.
