Norwegian Odd Herakles had won Elitkampen two years in a row in front of a, due to the pandemic, empty Solvalla.
The conditions were anything but perfect when Elitkampen offered a million to the winner for the first time. But the result was the same. Odd Heracles speared home Elitkampen - from the back lane!
Odd Herakles is now twelve years old, but he's still got legs and a good head on his shoulders.
- Still, he was not at his best today. The preparation has not been perfect, but he does not like to let a horse pass him over the run-up, said Tom Erik Solberg after the triumph of 1.20,0a/1.640 meters.
Who made a brilliant move from the start when he found a gap between horses and was in the lead in the first turn. At the same time, the Swedish horses Månlykke A.M. and Stjärnblomster had an internal battle for position in the first turn where Stjärnblomster galloped. Månlykke A.M. pushed on in third place for the last 700 meters, but never came dangerously close to Odd Herakles, but had to settle for third place.
Odd Herakles took the 67th win of his career and passed the twelve million mark. With three straight wins, he moves up to the same number of wins as compatriot Alm Svarten, giants Viesker and Järvsöfaks have five wins each in Elitkampen.
Odd Herakles still has the joy and excitement of a 12-year-old. And he has three more chances to win the Elitkampen - coldbloods can compete until the age of 15!
