{"id":1157,"date":"2020-04-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.elitloppet.se\/2020\/04\/30\/elitloppet-direktsands-i-tv4-klockan-20-00\/"},"modified":"2020-04-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-04-30T00:00:00","slug":"elitloppet-direktsands-i-tv4-klockan-20-00","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elitloppet.se\/en\/2020\/04\/30\/elitloppet-direktsands-i-tv4-klockan-20-00\/","title":{"rendered":"THE ELITE RACE IS BROADCAST LIVE ON TV4 AT 20.00"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>This year's Elitlopp at Solvalla on May 31 runs with empty spectator stands, but with an expected audience record that follows the trotting broadcasts on TV4.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Solvalla, Svensk Travsport, TV4 and ATG have agreed in a unique collaboration that this year's elite race final will be decided at 20.30 and broadcast live on TV4 at 20.00-21.00.<\/p>\n<p>- Since the audience does not have the opportunity to experience the races on site, we think it's fantastic to be able to show the elite race final at Solvalla for the entire Swedish people at the absolute best broadcast time, says J\u00f6rgen Forsberg, CEO of Solvalla.<\/p>\n<p>Solvalla's Elitlopp 2020 will be something completely different than the trotting public is used to. The Elitlopp weekend is traditionally a big festival, with around 50,000 visitors making the pilgrimage to Solvalla over three racing days Friday-Sunday. Due to the corona pandemic, all Swedish trotting and thoroughbred racecourses are closed to the public until further notice, and Solvalla announced earlier this week that this also applies to the elite race weekend.<\/p>\n<p>But the elite race weekend will be decided as planned - and instead of being on site, the audience can follow the races on TV4's channels and in ATG Live.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the decision was also taken to move the elite race final to the evening. The key to this decision was that TV4 could offer a live broadcast at 20.00-21.00.<\/p>\n<p>- \"Elitloppet is one of the biggest events of the year in both Swedish and international trotting. We are very pleased to be able to show world-class trotting in prime time this year on TV4 and thus contribute to creating a public festival in front of the TV, says Erik Westberg, Head of Sports at TV4 and C More.<\/p>\n<p>Katarina Widman, Chief Commercial Officer at ATG, is looking forward to the new arrangement for the elite race day with joy and anticipation:<\/p>\n<p>- Of course, it is sad that the setting for the elite race weekend cannot be what it usually is and should be this year.
