He was in the Elitloppet 2018 - now it's time again. After Saturday's victory in Algot Scott's Memorial, Cokstile is ready for the last Sunday in May. 
- He is better than ever and will be a spice for Elitloppet, says Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cokstile started his racing career in Norway where the biggest victory so far came in 2017 when winning the Norwegian Derby as a four-year-old. As a five-year-old, he impressed greatly in his annual debut and won riding 1.10,8 over short distance - something that then gave him a place among the sixteen in the Elitloppet in 2018. However, in the trial, it was not enough for a final place that time and ended up unplaced, but now Cokstile gets a new chance.<\/p>\n

The seven-year-old, who is now in Italian training with Rocco Spagnulo, had a very good 2019 where he took four straight victories at the end of the year, including the prize money of just over a million in the Gran Premio delle Nazioni after winning in 1.11.2 over the distance of 2,250 meters.<\/p>\n

2020 started with a second place in strong fashion behind already Elitlopps invited Chief Orlando in The Onions race at Solvalla and on Saturday it was victory in Algot Scotts Minne at \u00c5bytravet. Cokstile did not care that he had to trot as the first horse in the second lane and do the hard work - he was simply the best and disappeared from the other competitors in a fine victory time of 1.09,8 over 1640 meters. An effort that made Solvalla's sports director Anders Malmrot pick up the pink envelope.<\/p>\n

- He has been really good in his two starts this year and to win in second place like that was sweaty, says Anders Malmrot.<\/p>\n

Cokstile is the ninth horse to be ready for the Elitloppet in 2020 and it is the second time that he participates in the Elitloppet.<\/p>\n

Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 29-31, 2020. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each. The top four in each trial meet in a final where the winner receives three million SEK.<\/p>\n

This year, the Elitlopp weekend will be organized without spectators. The spread of the new coronavirus has led to laws, regulations and directives that have resulted in Solvalla and other Swedish trotting tracks completely closing down their spectator facilities since March 12. In addition to this, a number of restrictions have been introduced around the stables.
