And it is spiced up with a newly established eternal prize awarded by a legendary Elitlopp profile: Stig H Johansson's Cup!<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stig H Johansson has for more than 50 years been a power factor in Swedish trotting and for Elitloppet he is a living icon. Stig H saddled his first Elitlopp horse in 1971 (Big Elma) and has since participated as a driver in 28 Elitlopps, as a trainer in 32 - with six wins as a result.<\/p>\n<p>- \"Elitloppet is the golden day for everyone interested in trotting in this country,\" says Stig H Johansson.<\/p>\n<p>Stig H Johansson's Elitlopp winners in chronological order are The Onion, Utah Bulwark, Napoletano, Peace Corps, Gum Ball and Victory Tilly.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that he is further associated with Elitloppet in person also affects Stig H.<\/p>\n<p>- \"Anyone who has been at a high level in various kinds of competitions would have found this flattering. Not least because it's so nice to be reminded of certain things you've done really well,\" says Johansson.<\/p>\n<p>The Stig H Johansson Cup will be replenished each year with the inscription of the Elitlopp winner's name.<\/p>\n<p>- No one is more associated with Elitloppet than Stig H Johansson. We at Solvalla are very happy that Elitloppet now gets a trophy that bears his name, says Solvalla's sports manager Anders Malmrot.<\/p>\n<p>Elitloppet is the main attraction during the Elitlopp weekend, which will be held at Solvalla in Stockholm on May 27-29, 2022. Elitloppet is an invitational race where 16 horses compete in two different trials with eight horses in each.
