He was voted Canada's Older Horse of the Year in 2020 at the O'Brien Awards, and ended that season with seven wins and over $153,000 in earnings.<\/p>\n<p>Perfetto followed this up with an even better racing season last year where he finished 2021 in brilliant fashion, winning four straight races. He won seven races in total, including the Open Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and had 18 podiums in 24 starts and a record time of 1.09.5 over the elite race distance of 1609 meters.<\/p>\n<p>Among the podium finishes, the fine third prize in the Maple Leaf Trot (546,000 dollars total prize money) stands out where he ran strongly behind Lindy The Great and Forbidden Trade and last year is his very best season so far. Perfetto earned a total of $253,260 and was voted Canada's Older Horse of the Year for the second year in a row in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>He has shown continued form this year too, taking two wins.<\/p>\n<p>25 wins so far in his career and now new adventures await when he comes to Solvalla and Elitloppet. During Sunday's V75 Direkt on TV12, Solvalla's sporting director Anders Malmrot announced that Perfetto had received a pink ticket and for the first time will make the trip to Sweden.
